KJ Apa remembers screen dad Luke Perry: 'He would call my parents every week'
The Riverdale actor disclosed that he and his late co-star were nigh like a real father and son. "It's not every twenty-four hour period that you lot come up across a guy like Luke."

Actor Luke Perry's death last month from a massive stroke left friends and family unit bereaved, including fellow Riverdale actor KJ Apa, who played his son, Archie Andrews.

On The Tonight Show, Apa shared details nearly the relationship the two had, revealing that information technology mirrored that of a real father and son.
"Luke is the kind of person who did everything he can to brand whoever y'all are – no matter how big or how small – feel comfortable and feel welcome. It's hard to put into words how that makes me experience," he told host Jimmy Fallon, calculation, "It's not every day that you come up across a guy like Luke."
In an emotional chat, the 21-year-erstwhile shared that in add-on to looking out for him while filming in Vancouver, Perry was too shut to Apa's parents, who live in New Zealand, where Apa is from.
"He fabricated such a huge effort from the beginning," the histrion said. "He would phone call my parents every week and keep them updated on how I'm going. If I had a cold or something, he would say, 'I took some Gatorade to his apartment the other day.'"
Riverdale'south now-ambulation third season is ready to conclude on May 15. The show has been renewed for a fourth season.
